🎯 2026 SCTP Midwest Regional Championship (Optional)

📅 Friday May 1, 2026 | Stockdale Gun Club – 10724 Co Hwy S55, Ackley, IA 50601 

This is a 100 target competition (not 50) and is optional for all athletes.

⚠️ Important:

• This is a Friday event → athletes will miss school

• Recommended for experienced shooters comfortable with 100 rounds

💲 Cost:

• 16 Yard (Singles): NO COST - Club paid (registration + ammo)

• Handicap & Doubles: $55 per event + athlete provides ammo

🐦  2026 Newton Match

📅 May 2, 2026 | 8:30 AM – 11 AM | Jasper County Gun Club – Newton, Iowa

All athletes will participate in this away match. Exact squad times will be announced closer to the event. This competition offers valuable experience and a great opportunity to represent the Grinnell Sure Shots on the road!

🐅  2026 Grinnell Sure Shots Home Match

📅 May 9, 2026 | 8 AM – 5 PM | Big Springs Shooting Complex – Searsboro, Iowa

Join us for our annual home match as the Grinnell Sure Shots compete on familiar ground. It’s a great day to showcase skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship!

🏹  2026 Montezuma Match

📅 May 16, 2026 | 8 AM – 5 PM | Big Springs Shooting Complex – Searsboro, Iowa

All athletes will participate in this local match. It’s a great opportunity for the team to compete together, gain experience, and prepare for the upcoming state championship!

⚔️  2026 Grinnell vs. Amana Dual Set
📅 May 30, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Marshalltown Gun Club – 1631 Reed Ave, Marshalltown, IA 50158

This dual set will be held between Grinnell and Amana.

• All athletes will shoot 16s (100 Rounds).

• Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Intermediate Advanced athletes will shoot all three disciplines (16s, Handicap, and Doubles) if they choose to participate in Doubles and are willing to pay for the required ammunition.

📢Note: This event provides a full-day competitive opportunity and valuable experience across multiple disciplines.

🏆  2026 Iowa State Trap Championship

📅 June 8 – 14, 2026 | Cedar Falls Gun Club - 6138 W Cedar Wapsi Rd, Cedar Falls, IA 50613

The Grinnell Sure Shots will compete at the Iowa State Trap Championship — one of the biggest youth shooting events of the year! 

Event Schedule Overview:

• Monday, June 8: Intermediates

• Tuesday, June 9: Rookies & Intermediates

• Wednesday, June 10: Handicap

• Thursday, June 11: Doubles

• Friday, June 12 & Saturday, June 13: Junior Varsity & Varsity

• Sunday, June 14: Shoot-offs

🎯 Days of Clays – Iowa (2026)
📅 September 19, 2026 | Time – To Be Announced | Mahaska County Izaak Walton League – Oskaloosa, Iowa

Days of Clays is an open-to-the-public sporting clays event supporting youth shooting sports through the MidwayUSA Foundation. Participants will enjoy a full day of shooting and games while helping fund local and national youth programs.

Event details:

• $200 donation per shooter or $800 per 4-person squad

• Each shooter receives 100 sporting clays and one lunch ticket

• Additional lunch tickets available for purchase

This is a great opportunity for athletes, families, coaches, and community members to support youth shooting sports while enjoying a fun day on the range.
